Hakiki was built around a simple idea: bring the authentic döner experience we fell in love with in Germany to our community here in Northern Virginia. Founder Hash Abbasi comes from a family with more than three decades of experience in the restaurant industry. During his travels to Germany, Hash was introduced to the döner shops that are a staple of German street-food culture: fresh meat carved straight from the spit, packed into warm bread with crisp vegetables and flavorful sauces. He saw an opportunity to bring that same experience home, and the idea for Hakiki was born. Hash partnered with Elyas Mohammadi, a technology professional with more than a decade of experience in the tech industry. Elyas brings a background in technology, operations, and strategy, complementing Hash’s restaurant experience and entrepreneurial vision. Together, they set out to create more than another restaurant. Hakiki is a neighborhood spot built around fresh, halal döner inspired by the shops of Germany, great hospitality, and a commitment to the community it serves. As local owners, Hash and Elyas remain actively involved in Hakiki and look forward to growing alongside the South Riding and Northern Virginia community.
